More Comments at Google MapHidden on the second floor of an anonymous building we discovered this delicious vegetarian / vegan restaurant. We ordered the plate of the day and it was good, especially the tempura 😉 We also had some cakes and coffee and we also liked them. If you are in the area and fancy some vegetarian food come here, you won’t be disappointed.
We had a good little vegan lunch here. The hummus baguette was very nice (though I would have perhaps liked a bit more hummus in it!) as was the soy yoghurt that it came with, and the set lunch plate was enjoyed too, with a good variety of bits and pieces. The drinks were a little bit of a let down, with a slightly burnt tasting dandelion coffee (or does it always taste like that?) and a coffee that I’m sure may well have been nice black but didn’t seem to go well with the oat milk. Overall though, a very pleasant lunch! A nice atmosphere too, with a bit more buzz than some other vegan places (which can sometimes feel a bit too calm!).
Hands down the best meal I've had in Japan, up there with my all time favourites. Being a vegetarian in Japan is challenging most of the time - but the Yidaki Cafe is an oasis in the desert. It serves delicious veggie food in a Japanized style, lovingly prepared and presented. No sugary syrups or overpowering sauces, just honest, high quality food. The menus are hand written in both Japanese and English, including adorable illustrations. Everything is vegetarian; vegan items (which are most of them) are clearly labelled (and the staff even checked when I ordered a non-vegan item). Really nice setting too, on the second floor with quiet music and lots of plants - removing you physically and mentally from the bustle of the city below.
