Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan｜ろばた すし 北のめし あきず

I had my first meal of Sapporo at Akizu since it is so conveniently located in the B1 level of my hotel (Keio Plaza Hotel). Food quality was great and prices are fair. If you are a hotel guest, you also get 10% off. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. There’s bar seating, regular tables, and also tatami seating. Service was so friendly and welcoming. On my last visit, Ayame was my server and my service was perfect.

We ordered the cheapest set for our dinner. The set has a lot of very fresh seafood from Hokkaido, with raw, fried and even food cooked in a claypot. It ends with either a ramen or udon (and of course a small dessert of almond jelly). Essentially it has many dishes making the set fairly good value and quite delicious. By the way, there’s a waitress who speaks good English but an English menu is not available. But one can always use Google translate to take a photo of the menu and translate it.

I went there with a customer who came from far away. It feels like a high-end izakaya that uses Hokkaido ingredients. The price is a little high, but it is very delicious.
