Meal: Lunch Day Visited: Friday Budget: ¥1,750 Closest Station: Soen Reservation Needed?: No Payment: Cash; Credit; E-Payment Kid Friendly?: Maybe English Menu?: No Gourmet soup curry can be found in this popular new branch restaurant! The restaurant is famous for their delicious dashi (soup stock) and soup curry dishes that look more like art work than something to eat. The ebi/shrimp stock is recommended, but we preferred the normal soup stock. It had a subtle flavor that complimented the medley of vegetables and chicken served in the curry. The restaurant is beautiful and bright. Service was excellent. Prices are a bit high when compared with other neighborhood restaurants, but reasonable when you consider the food quality. Highly recommended.

This is a soup curry and tsukemen restaurant located near JR Soen Station. This is the second branch of ``UNBALLON,'' a sister restaurant of the famous ramen shop ``Ramen Miraku'' on Rishiri Island, Hokkaido. In the past, I tried the "UNBALLON soup curry" and "Ramen Miraku dashi curry" that were served in retort pouches, and they were delicious. This time I ate "Dashi Curry Tsukemen from Rishiri Ramen Miraku". It's absolutely delicious. The noodles are made with Rishiri dashi kelp and have a smooth and chewy texture. The soup has a strong dashi stock that conveys the flavor to the core of your body. When you finish eating the noodles, mix the kelp soup stock water with the noodle dipping sauce and drink it all. I ate the special chicken soup curry on a different day, and it was also extremely delicious with a rich soup and deep flavor. This is a store I would like to visit again. It also appeared on the Nishikigoi TV program ``Norinori Walk'' (HTB Hokkaido Television).

@dashi curry Tsukemen ¥1100 This tsukemen style is typical of Ramen Miraku's sister restaurant on Rishiri Island, and is made with hydrated whole grain noodles soaked in Rishiri kelp water and served with spicy soup curry. You can fully enjoy the flavorful wheat noodles with just the umami of the kelp water, but if you soak them in the delicious soup with the spicy aftertaste, the umami will double. The pork topping is also meaty and delicious. Finally, add the kelp water that the noodles were soaked in to the dipping sauce to finish off the soup.
