Hualien City, Hualien County｜府前食坊

Small "cafe" tucked away in a corner. This was a 10 mins walk from our airbnb. The service staffs recommended us to get the scallion cake which was cooked a la minute which was piping hot and great! Especially during winter! The pumpkin tart had a nice texture and the filling was delicious as it was marinated with herbs and spice. Remember to take the chilli oil to give your dishes a spicy kick

This shop sells amazing pumpkin paste on a bun and Chinese omelette! Visit there for breakfast and you can see the mountains in the distance too.

Being an egg pancake fanatic I had to try this place. Everybody gets the egg pancake here. Al the other parties also looked quite good. You order their famous egg pancake and pick it up and add their special (very garlicky ) sauce yourself. It's pan fried crispy and each portion is quite big. The dough appears to be homemade and is thicker than the machine made type. Pretty good but bland if you don't add any sauce. I would prefer a thicker soy bean paste kind of sauce rather than their very funny garlic soy sauce.
