Alishan Township, Chiayi County｜街角永富苦茶油雞

We ate dinner here on recommendation of our B&B provider. Food was served quickly - you know it was made on the spot as the chef is prepping it across the counter - all the dishes are made with locally sourced fresh vegetables, chicken and wild boar. It’s nice that there’s a touch of tea oil to some of the dishes too in a homage to the prime livelihood of the community! You can tell our before/after photos the destruction we laid on the dishes 😀 yum!

The tea seed oil mee sua is a must order! It tasted so fragrant and savoury, almost like aglio olio but even better. The stir-fried fern (山苏) has an interesting texture but nevertheless a cool dish not found in my home country.

Delicious! We also bought a couple bottles of their oil and a bag of coffee plums. Yum!
