More Comments at Google MapThe best meal I’ve had in Taiwan so far. Clean and delicious, I had a big plate and didn’t feel terrible after, even as it was just as I reached Hualien after a long train ride. The ladies are very sweet and made conversation with me. If you’re vegan, you cannot miss this place. The food is buffet style and they have so many options and protein sources. I went there twice on my 2 day trip.
This vegan spot is special because the food has no MSG and little or no oil. The ingredients are extra fresh, and they’re famous for tofu dishes. The atmosphere is peaceful and good service.
One of the nicest vegetarian restaurants with a long history in Hualien, going back over 30 years. This is a second generation family restaurant owned by a married couple. Awesome because no MSG is added to the cooked dishes. Based on Chinese Zen practices, the dishes served contain zero animal products: no egg or dairy. Also in the the local Zen tradition, the food is prepared without garlic. If you are okay with those prerequisites, you will be very happy here. The food is always fresh and delicious. If you go promptly at lunch time (a little early is best) you will be greeted by a very colorful variety of veg, mushroom, tofu dishes. There isn't a menu so you would not know that you could order noodles if the buffet is sold out. Mandarin Chinese for noodles is 麵 'mi an'. Noodle soup is 湯麵. Cooked noodles without the broth is popular too. Called "dry noodles", though not really dry is 乾麵. Warning, they sell out quickly. Hope this review helps.
