Datong District, Taipei City｜Shuanglian Sweet Rice Ball

It’s the good sweets shop for afternoon tea. They have traditional Taiwanese sweets. Especially mochi is great ☺️

Shop recommended by local friend and trial and tested by tourist. The dessert did not disappoint. Portion was sufficient for 2 pax. So order just 1 item if you want to save stomach space for more Taiwan delicacies. Me and spouse decided to go with one cold dessert with various types of bean, yam and peanut and another one spicy flavoured mochi.

Classic Taiwanese shaved ice and sweet soup (whether hot or cold) options that keep people coming back for more. Their namesake product is their rice balls (湯圓), available in all the aforementioned dessert formats. But for a truly all-in rice ball experience, order the standalone rice cake! For the sweet rice cake, the texture contrast between the sticky rice and the sweet crunchy peanut/sesame topping is delightful.
