Absolutely a hidden gem. Behind the unassuming facade, Anahisan 泰北料理 serves up the most authentic Northern Thai cuisine in the whole of Taiwan. The owner's Thai buddy assists as a consultant to how the food should taste. Yes, ask a Thai about his food! Even for a non fish lover like me, I walloped half of the lemon sea perch served. That's the famed Thai lemon fish. The flesh was tender with just the right spring instead of being flaky like those served in many other restaurants. The tartness comes from using real lemon juice. Nope, not vinegar. Perfectly fragrant... I'm still salivating! The must have Tom Yum Kung - aahhh... heavenly! Just the right balance of the 3S, the aroma of fresh kafir lime leaves wafts through to tempt you - irresistible. You can have this essential soup with fish, prawns or seafood combo. The Pad Kra Pao is another to die for - sorry, to live for - as there is a good wok fragrance 鍋氣 to it. Skilfully sautéed, the tender bits of pork were still juicy and the balance of flavours are simply beyond words. Ok, 1 word - YUMMY!!! And oh, the Thod Mun Kung - คุณพระช่วย (oh my goodness) - good bite yet tender with a very tasty sweet chillie sauce. An unusual dish is the century egg salad - contrasting textures of soft, crispy, crunchy all in a burst of flavours - onions, cucumbers, peanuts n the secret sauce - so delicious! Then there's the Thai spring roll...not deep fried but stuffed with lettuce, prawns, chicken, pork, carrots...etc etc...you have to eat this yourself to find out the other 5 mystery stuffings. No, am not telling you here 😁. Veggies are a must. The cabbage with shrimp sauce - Mama Mia...สมบูรณ์! I'll need to return to Anahisan soon to check out the rest of the extensive menu. There are also sauces/mixes for several of the dishes sold. There is currently a promotion going on - go grab yours fast! Definitely a worthy restaurant for just meeting friends, family and to impress your VIPs!

The set meal for two has a very high CP value, the food is served quickly and tastes delicious. I really recommend it!
