Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County｜The Bread & Butter Bakery

Quaint, quiet and great food. Walking distance from the line of hot spring hotels down the road and right beside the bus interchange in Jiaoxi. We needed a break from Chinese food and Bread & Butter provided this perfectly. The use of produce specific to Yilan (Yilan spring onions) in their dishes also adds a nice touch. Beyond dine-in, it also has a bakery that does a wonderful set of scones and bread.

We hosted our Christmas Party at Bread & Butter for about 30 people. They were very accommodating helping figure out a menu for our group. We enjoyed a delicious salad, mushroom soup, excellently cooked turkey and roast vegetables for the holiday occasion, duck pizza and a delicious cranberry dessert; in addition to accommodating the vegans and vegetarians in our group. The mulled wine was also a great festive winter favorite by those who got it. The space is beautiful in every corner and you can tell a lot of thought went into designing the space, and a bonus for those with children, there’s a full-sized changing table in the family / handicap bathroom (hard to find in most restaurants). Both Dan and Olivia, along with the rest of the kitchen staff, were friendly and helpful on the day. Our group had a wonderful Christmas dinner. Thank you!
