Alishan Township, Chiayi County｜Zengin Cafe

Very well located, but you must have your own transport, and do not bring big luggage, because no elevator. Breakfast is fantastic, Sun rise trip is enjoying.

We came here for 2 days to shoot wedding photos, and it was a lovely experience. The proprietor runs a cafe downstairs serving delicious locally sourced coffee and Alishan Oolong Tea along with an assortment of afternoon tea style cakes and pastries with a bit of a British motif. The rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and the whole place is modern and spotless. The proprietor takes great pride in his establishment and in the local area, leading sunrise viewing walks every morning , introducing local flora before heading back to prepare these beautiful fresh breakfasts (included)!

An awesome accommodation option that you should not miss! I'm extremely particular about my accommodations and after months of research, I decided to stay with Zengin Cafe. Although it is not located near the Alishan scenic area, it is tuck away at a quieter area where you can enjoy the nature. The hospitable family first picked me up from the nearest public transport drop off point before helping me to check in to my clean and pretty room. They even offered to send me to purchase my dinner in the evening. At night, they also hosted a tea appreciation session. For those who are interested in the sunrise, the host also brings you out in the morning. Unfortunately, due to a fever last night, I slept through my alarm and only woke up 20min after the sunrise tour has started. Despite so, I am more than willing to be back again at Zengin Cafe to fulfil my Alishan sunrise dream. Did I mention that their home grown and hand made coffee and tea were superb? I bought 2 bags of tea back. Also, the breakfast provided was simple but fulfilling. I will be back and if you are looking for a good accommodation on your way to Alishan, don't miss Zengin Cafe :)
