Beitun District, Taichung City｜YEN KARESAN

I came to this place for the first time a week ago and I was a bit reluctant to write about it because I am worried that it will be very, very difficult to get a reservation in the future. B But I've never been a selfish person so I want to share this fantastic, innovative, creative and highly sophisticated restaurant with all of you. Similarly to some of my other favorite new places in Taichung, they take Taiwanese dishes with a slightly western fusion approach, and then notch it up another level. The ingredients are absolutely fantastic and paired with a beautiful presentation, flavorful sauces, excellent service and a totally and outstandingly gorgeous environment, this gem of a restaurant has moved right up to the list of my very favorite restaurants in Taichung. A split salad and two main dishes were just around NT1500 which is extremely reasonable for the quality and attention to detail.

Beautiful destination restaurant with a manicured Zen garden. Reservation only with four time blocks per day, so book ahead for the best experience. Feature dishes: black latte, sesame tart with white chocolate ganache, Sayama matcha, cherry duck confit, slow roasted pork & pan fried sea bass. Complimentary truffle fries with review.

The scenery is beautiful and the food tastes great!
