Taiping District, Taichung City｜感恩現炒素食

One of our favourite restaurants whenever we visit Taichung, partly because it's literally just around the corner from our apartment, but mostly because it's vegetarian and the food is pretty cheap and tasty! This area is quite sparse when it comes to vegetarian restaurants so it's very good to be able to eat here, in a nice, spacious area, with a decent amount of choice and very friendly staff. While it's quite cheap, the quality of the food and surroundings is way better than you'd expect for the price you'd normally expect of a typical pokey side street noodle bar. Some dishes I could recommend are Mapo Tofu (Tofu Ina spicy sauce) a and a sort of rich casserole with vegetable balls. This place is always popular so get there early if you want a table.

The meals are very tasty! And they are all vegan dishes. I ate 3,000 yuan of combined dishes that day. One of the dishes was crispy on the outside and had yam sauce, and the filling was filled with taro with a rich aroma, which was amazing!
