Central District, Taichung City｜Joy-Way Mochi

The texture and thickness of the mochi skin is on point. They are made to order and they taste so fresh. The fillings are not too sweet with the right balance of flavors.

Visited the shop through recommendations and browsing mochi shops online, had to try and for sure was not disappointed! soft and fluffy mochi which had good proportions of pastry to filling - which it was sooooo fragrant and we wanted more..

Came on a Monday to order one mochi but they apologetically declined as they had a bulk order that would last for two days. They kindly told me that I could come back on Wednesday to buy individual mochi and so I did, turns out it was really worth the wait! Must try: 1. Peanut taro mochi Salted egg, sesame flavors are fine, and matcha flavor was expected, but the peanut taro stood out the most! The peanut within is well roasted and crunchy, the taro is fresh and mochi goes very well altogether. The mochi skin is soft and light, I love how the portion was evenly distributed to make it taste so well. Wish I could bring some back to my country but freshly made food are meant to consume on the spot :) glad I waited, very happy that I got to try this!
