I visited this beautiful and peaceful place on a Sunday morning. Surrounded by serene Buddha statues and energizing gemstones, this unique restaurant offered an overwhelmingly balanced vegetarian pairing menu that truly stood out. The chef’s delicate touch with various mushrooms was especially impressive, and the truffle mushroom soup was simply perfect. But what moved me the most was the — a clear, comforting broth that touched my soul with its warm sincerity. The flavor was pure, transparent, and emotionally stirring. And the lotus leaf rice was unlike any I’ve ever had — deeply special in its own right. Rooted in traditional Taiwanese cuisine, the chef reimagines vegetarian dishes through modern techniques and ingredients, presenting them in the most harmonious and inspiring way. Through pairings of fermented vinegar, soy sauces, and vegetables, my senses were awakened — and I felt deeply connected to nature. I came to a profound realization that animals are not lesser beings, but part of our interconnected existence — a truth revealed through the dishes of this hidden master in Taichung. The owner of the restaurant was both considerate and enthusiastic. The dining experience was wonderful, and it was pretty enjoyable to have our meal surrounded by all these antiques. Not to mention, the food was outstanding with all fresh ingredients. My mom and I had a great time having lunch there, and it's definitely one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants in Taiwan.
