East District, Taichung City｜Fukuya Ramen

超級超級超好吃的素拉麵！這是我暫時吃過最好吃的素拉麵店！ 從2022年吃過一次之後，一直期待會再來台中旅遊，唯一最大的目的就是要來吃福屋！ Since moving to the UK in 2023, I’ve been searching for a vegetarian ramen that’s better than “Fukuya,” but to be honest, there’s really no place that does it better. Today, my wife and I arrived right on time at 3 PM to put our names on the waiting list. After registering, we wandered around the area until 5 PM when we could finally enter and dine. (I highly recommend arriving at 3 PM sharp to sign up for the waitlist so the staff can arrange your seating.) Because we had been looking forward to this for so long, my wife and I each had two bowls of ramen, two bowls of chashu rice, and some side dishes. Honestly, aside from the tofu being relatively light and refreshing, every other dish was beyond the standard of high-end restaurants. Specially the best Vegan Pork Belly I’ve ever had. (I personally highly recommend the “Special Shiro-Fuku Ramen!”) That’s all for now—if I ever get the chance to visit Taichung again, I’ll do exactly what I did today: head straight here for a meal as soon as I arrive! 16.02.2025

Flavourful vegan ramen *have Japanese soft-boiled egg option not vegan Three main broth based - soy, mushroom oil - sesame oil, apricot kernel, soy sauce - miso, chili/pepper powder Half bowl of ramen add on free of charge, you may request at the end of your first bowl. Passionate staff, cosy space. One thing need to take note of is that the inside dining space can only fit up to 5 ppl max, best to call to confirm or reserve a seat. Normally the waiting time outside would be 30+ mins. Parking is slightly troublesome. Food was brilliant and fast to serve, and will definitely visit again soon! Takeout option available 🥡 Neat and tidy 💫

Here you'll find many vegan/ vegetarian ramen 🍜 rarely seen elsewhere. The noodle was cooked just right, and the soup was not too salty. You can ask for extra coriander with only an NT$10 fee. Great place to try when you come visit Taichung.
