I am a high school student from Malaysia, and the first time I went to a Japanese restaurant was Kawakami. I originally brought enough budget to go from the team’s night market to Kawakami by myself. But when I was paying, I found that the amount I had to pay was less than I thought, so I confirmed my order with the clerk, and everything was included. So I paid with confidence, thinking that I had made a mistake and did not confirm the invoice. As a result, on the way back to the dormitory by bus, I wanted to calculate the money I spent for the day, but found that the clerk had underestimated the price of two dishes and drinks😓. It was thinly sliced ​​halibut, fried oysters and oolong tea recommended by the chef. I originally had to pay for it. The 4 courses and 1 drink should cost 1,460, but the clerk only counts two courses + service charge = 924. I wanted to go back and pay but this was my only free time in New Hsinchu and I was already on the bus when I found out. I'm really sorry, I hope you won't treat me as a cheap customer, and I'm sorry for the kind smile of the clerk when he handed me the invoice. I really like this store and I'm so sorry!!

Favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. The owner, chefs and the staffs are very friendly and welcoming, despite being an incredibly busy and popular restaurant. Highly recommend their sashimi, (there's a daily special menu and a regular menu). The steam egg is also rich and flavorful, with a loaded amount of fish steamed inside. A special mention is the 茶泡飯, the portion is big for one person! They offer a customized half portion if you want to order more. Remember to call in advance to reserve.
