Extradionary Japanese cuisine! No menu set dinner for customers to choose own price range. The chefs at the bar will interact with you if you like some company. All the dishes came out great! Some of the sushi and sashimi pieces are at its best. Since the menu will differ on daily basis, it's definitely worth revisit.

Shui Yue Zai is definitely the place to go in Taichung if your looking to have a mid-to-high end Japanese dining experience. It's great for lunch and for dinner, and according to locals, is quite well known around town. They have a few sets to choose from, although none of the dishes are actually listed out. You can make many requests and changes to the menu, as long as it is within the price of the set you chose. Having visited a couple of times before, I've asked to have a dish from the previous time I visited and they actually delivered. The food is always good here, better than most of the well known restaurants of the same price bracket in Taipei, although that's to be expected because food in Taipei is overpriced everywhere. This place is a must try for any Japanese cuisine fanatics. Service is good, food is good, environment is good, it's one of my favorite places in Taiwan.
