Pleasantly well executed bistro bites. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Would be great if there were more bistro priced wines to choose from.

Wonderful restaurant 💙Start with Oysters with pickled cucumber, horseradish, dill The oyster is fresh and big 💙Love the Pink prawn crudo, made with red pepper, bisque, fresh herbs Amazing sauce with fresh herbs aroma. (Trust me, if you are a crudo fan, you will love it) 💙Steak tartare Unlike other Steak Tartare, this one is more capers and pickles so it tastes more complex and sour (see if you like) 💙Main: Duck à l'orange The size is big and it can be more raw! Not bad 💙My favorite main course tonight: Pig’s Trotter (Pierre Koffmann style) This is a very nice dish, which is made with a lot of efforts Nice Stuffed Pigs' Trotters. The pig foot is vert tender and juicy. 💙Dessert: Honey madeleine (The only thing I don’t recommend. Not very sweet but I like the puffy and crispy one more)

To get a table at Jean May usually takes a couple of months and when you finally get in, it is understandable why. The food is exceptional and unlike so many restaurants in Hong Kong where inconsistency and poor quality is rampant, Jean May bucks that trend and serves up delicious French food. I was knocked back by the barramundi which was incredible… so many times I’ve ordered barramundi and it is served over cooked and tough. We were four for dinner and we pretty much ordered every dish on the menu and we were in for a treat. Each dish was as good as the last and we savoured every bite. The steak tartare was as delicious as they prepare it in France. The endives were crispy and flavourful. The battered mushrooms incredible. I forgot to take a photo of the sticky date pudding, one of the best I’ve ever tried. This place is a must go!!
