Each cocktail tells a story and builds upon the previous one, resulting in a truly immersive journey for the palate and spirit. I love how they printed the drink menu onto fans. We started our evening with the Jo chapter, and the Omi-Onna cocktail made with shirasagi blended whisky. Its smooth and rich flavors set the stage for what was to come. We also had the Juroku cocktail featuring sailor jerry spiced rum, it was a delightful blend of warmth and spice, creating a captivating taste experience. Moving on to the Ha chapter, we were treated to the Fudo cocktail crafted with monkey shoulder whiskey. Its depth and complexity were truly mesmerizing, leaving us craving for more. The Shiwajo cocktail, made with Copenhagen dill anise aquavit, added a unique twist to the collection, surprising our taste buds in the best way possible. As we entered the final chapter, Kyu. We enjoyed the Hanakobu cocktail, featuring Johnnie Walker Black Label, which brought a harmonious balance of flavors, leaving us in awe of the craftsmanship behind each creation. Finally, the Shojo cocktail made with Tanqueray London Dry Gin provided a refreshing and invigorating finale to our tasting journey. Gishiki Lounge’s ambiance was captivating, immersing us in a world where taste and storytelling intertwine. Every sip felt like a step deeper into the rich traditions and artistry of Japanese culture.
A hidden gem from Tai Kwun! I went there for some drinks before dinner with my fds, and we liked everything we tried! Their drinks are quite unique with a Japanese twist. What we ordered: - SCENE 4 - FUDÒ [toasty, silk, roasted] milk washed genmaicha whisk(e)y rice vinegar | amber maple | elderflower - SCENE 5 - TOBIDE [grapey, bubbles, peachy) gin | white peach | orange sake upcycled wine | fruit air - SCENE 14 - SEMIMARU [nutty, custardy, sweet) mugi shochu | black sesame mochigome | soursop pulp - SCENE 15 - KANTANOTOKO [rich, vanilla, coffee| vodka | kokuto | pale ink hazelnut | cold brew coffee They recommended me their signature drink, FUDO and I liked it a lot! Love the taste and scent of genmaicha, easy to drink and not too sweet. TOBIDE is very Instagramable and taste so refreshing. Overall, I think everything was quite on point, the staffs were all very friendly and attentive, the ambience is nice, I think this cocktail bar deserves more recognition. Rating: 4.5/5 Revisit: for sure
A great incentive and rather casual bar for Japanese-style cocktails. Stocking a great selection of Japanese whiskies from newer and less-known distilleries, and featuring a frequently updated highly experimental cocktail menu with themes based on Japanese Noh theatre (which inspires the internal decor), it is a great place to come if you like your Japanese drinks, whether they be neat or mixed.
