Young trendy tea house All different choice of tea and tea cocktail Fun and tasty desert Everything is less sweet and well made

nice enviro, great tea! usually quiet, but recently both the staff and the customers are getting louder... the art of my matcha latte wasn’t as good as those in other photos... highly recommend the tea “honey orchid”.

The Sun / Moon / Star Streets Precinct in Wan Chai has become more and more vibrant with a variety of new joins. BASAO tea is one of the latest new joins, which provided a zenful and comfortable environment for you to enjoy an afternoon tea peacefully. I really adore the simple yet pretty interior design of BASAO tea. Once I entered the store, I was attracted by this cake display, and ordered a piece of Homemade Smokey Bohea Roll Cake. This roll cake is oh-so-good! The smokey bohea cake layer was really spongy and fluffy, and the cream inside? Smooth and flavoured! The shop assistant mentioned that smokey bohea is one of the signatures of this store, as the tea leaves was smoked with sandalwood (if I remember correctly). I finished the whole piece in a relatively short period of time as it was fork licking good! It was also great to enjoy with the tea I ordered. BASAO tea has a big menu of teas for you to choose from, ordinary, cold brew and even nitro! I am not a tea professional, and could hardly be recognized as a tea lover, therefore, I opted for an ordinary black tea to start with. This Seaside Honey Black Tea is definitely great for tea beginners like me! It has a sweet scent and rich tea aroma. Love it! Point to note, BASAO tea uses universal tea judging / tasting cup (the white little one with wooden sleeve on the right) to serve tea. It is actually my first time drinking tea with this kind of cup. Seriously, you wouldn’t get hold of one if you are an amateur. And I love this novel and authentic experience. One of the shop assistants mentioned that she used to be a barista before, but she was intrigued by tea as it could have so many different flavour and colors, unlike coffee which more or less stays as relatively similar colors. She joined BASAO tea hoping to introduce tea to a wider community, especially the younger generation. And I am quite positive that they are advancing in that direction :) [Side note: During my visit, the staff were discussing making cocktail with tea. I would really love to try that one out to see how BASAO tea works its magic to modernize tea culture!]
