Kokon2 offers really yummy, freshly prepared, Japanese food. The entrance is a little difficult to find, up the stairs and tucked away inside an industrial building, but totally worth a visit! The staff are friendly and attentive. The house tea is mild in flavour which compliments the tasty food. I recommend the fruit smoothies if you enjoy chilled drinks. Cobsidering each dish was relatively generous in size compared to other sushi restaurants on Hong Kong, the prices are reasonable. I loved the crispy fried rice dishes. Visa and Mastercard are accepted but not American Express. I highly recommend Kokon2.

Grilled eggplant and takoyaki are better than expected. The salmon head soup has a sweet base and there are many vegetables.

I have tried this other branch and thought it was good. It turns out there is also one in Kwun Tong. The layout here is more like a small izakaya. In addition to the special rolls, don’t miss other snacks. ⁡ ⁡ Spider $96⁡ It can be seen that two of the pieces have large pieces of fried soft-shell crab inserted directly into them, while the remaining pieces are stuffed with soft-shell crab, avocado and crab sticks. The soft-shell crab is fried to a crispy texture, with a sweet and juicy taste. The soft crab sticks and avocado, plus the soft and glutinous sushi rice, make the texture and taste full of layers. ⁡ ⁡ Kagoshima Kurobuta and Lychee Roll Skewers $32⁡ Kagoshima Kurobuta slices are used to wrap the lychee pulp. When you bite it, you can feel the sweet taste of the bursting lychee juice. It is surprisingly delicious with the soft and tender Kurobuta meat. ⁡ ⁡ Fried soft shell crab tempura $88⁡ If the spider roll isn't enough, go for the deep-fried soft-shell crab instead. It has been pre-cut into four pieces when served. The outer tempura of each piece is hot and crispy, and the crab body is juicier and more delicious. It is full of umami and you can slowly sigh. ⁡ ⁡ Japanese octopus dumplings $48⁡ The six pieces of takoyaki are cooked until the outer skin is crispy and juicy. The round piece looks like it has been fried. The sweet and sour sauce is drizzled with a fragrant aroma. When you bite into it, the center is soft and there are large and refreshing octopus pieces, and the dried wood fish has a rich texture. ⁡ ⁡ Tornado Salad $78⁡ The other dishes are quite evil, so order a salad to balance it out. A large ball of crab roe and shredded crab sticks are placed on a large bowl of fresh and crisp salad. The portion is generous, and the sauce is slightly spicy and makes it more refreshing. ⁡ ⁡ I have been to different ancient and modern branches, and I always find new surprises every time. It is worth going back again and again. ⁡ ⁡
