Sheung Wan, Hong Kong｜和緣 Wa-En Kappo

We had such a good time here tonight. Wanted to make sure the team gets credit for it. GREAT food and awesome hospitality. Thank you Vise for hosting us and being so attentive.

Enjoyed a good lunch at Wa-En Kappo. Good ambience with nice sea view. I ordered deluxe lunch set. The only difference between deluxe set and standard set is the prior one have tempura. The tempura is average and small portion. And the tempura cost extra $320, just not worth it…. I strongly suggest to go for the standard lunch set. Food is fresh and exquisite.

A newish restaurant in a newish building in Sheung Wan with a gorgeous harbor view. It’s quiet inside - a single panel facing the chefs, hushed conversations but not so quiet as to become stern. The food is beautiful - gorgeous variety of 11 courses with ingredients like sea cucumber, sea urchin, toro, fois gras, Sakura shrimp, matcha, kurobata pork, mantis shrimp. Each bite is textured and gorgeously executed. Each course is probably 3-5 bites but so, so, worth savouring. The only faux pas I think I committed was not bowing back as the staff walked us to the lift/elevator, but I know now for next time! Menu changes monthly.
