More Comments at Google MapCool dining experience where the deco makes me feel like I’m travelling in Japan. I simply love their tsukemen with slowcook Angus beef, the warm soup and chewy noodle is truely my comfort food!
New ramen joint in the area. Noodles are served in soup or dipping sauce. Options of chicken, pork, prawn or beef favour. The noodles is well cooked with wonderful texture. The soup base is flavoursome yet not too heavy. We had the chicken which was prepared by sou vide technique which gave a tender texture. The pork tasted great and literally broken into pieces easily in your mouth. Decoration is compact and intimate. Service is excellent. Cost about 69 to 80 HKD per head. Finally a decent value ramen place! Will come back.
Newly open in Mong Kok, 阿久根和牛拉麵屋 is a tsukemen and ramen restaurant with an interior design that resembles those in Japan a lot. First you get to order at a machine near the entrance, and then you wait with your receipt until you get a seat. My friend and I were lucky to get two seats at the bar table, where we could see the chefs cook. And best of all, air con! It was a really warm day when we visited. There is also al fresco dining area which would be quite hot in summer. We really wanted to try these chili powder, but it seems that they go better with ramen, and we ordered tsukemen, so we gave it a pass and probably try it next time when we order ramen. I ordered this Chicken Tsukemen in white broth. This is probably the best tsukemen I have ever had, with those in Japan counted. I usually find the soup for tsukemen rather salty, which makes me crave for water after finishing the noodles. Yet, this one is thick with strong chicken flavor, but not salty at all! It was even good for sipping alone without noodles! How awesome is that?! HKD$88 for this tsukemen is definitely worthy with the superb soup and all these goodies. The onsen egg was perfect, I love the runny egg yolk so much! Noodles was thick yet al dente. Chicken was tender and rightly flavored with black pepper. The whole tsukemen was very satisfying! Strongly recommend you to try it before it gets too busy!
