Central, Hong Kong｜TATE Dining Room

I booked this restaurant because of the good reviews and it has one of the longest official lunch durations in town. I like the place, it is elegant without the glitz and exaggerations, The decor is more of French + Japanese style. We chose the more expensive champagne because the cheaper one is already opened and the stopper is not very tight and we don't want to take the risk, otherwise we won't mind to try it. I am not going to describe the food, you can read other reviews. The staff are all very capable, they know the products well and explain very well to us every course, we had the 5 glasses wine pairing and the extra lobster dish. The pace is so relaxing, no push to churn out as many courses as possible, it is like dining at home minus the TV. Wine and food portions are generous. Most of the food have Chinese elements in it, I am surprised to see the steamed meat ball covered in cooked rice (whatever it is called on the menu), it was a dish my household will eat when I was very young and it is not a Cantonese dish from my point of view. There are some mess and noises generated by works of some tradespeople near the front door, it will be good if the works can be delayed and to be carried out after all guests have left, that's why I can't give 5 stars for the atmosphere. The place is not full, all the other customers are very quiet and no loud talking which is a plus for us. I hope more people will come to enjoy the very high quality of food especially for this place.

A lovely dining experience from start to finish. The service was top notch and each course was a delight to taste the unique flavors combining Chinese and French cuisine. The wine pairing was also on point and truly complimented the dishes they accompanied.

A memorable experience where every dish tantalised our taste buds. A near faultless experience. Staff were engaging, every detail you can tell has been thought through. Highly recommended and in my list of all time favorites.
