Kwun Tong, Hong Kong｜Caterking Dim Sum Restaurant

a small but very popular dim sum place in kwun tong! honestly if you wanna try it, better to come on a weekday and avoid lunch peak hour! there's always a queue on weekends and sometimes have to wait for 1+ hour! finally got a seat, ordered my favourite siu mai here, superb! then the usual ones like prawn dumplings, vege dumplings, rice roll, all was good! my first time to try the fried fish cake with lotus here, very nice! crispy! not sitting very well since they put lots of seats to facilitate with the high demand. so wouldn't expect to sit and relax for hours, better eat and go, pass the seat to those waiting outside. very satisfying.

When it comes to dim sum, there are so many different types of dumplings and flavors to try. While I agree that the har gaw and siu mai here were particularly delicious and generously sized, I also tried the Chiu chow style dumpling and found it to be quite bland in comparison. It's important to note that taste is subjective, and what one person may find bland, another might find perfectly balanced. However, in my personal experience, the Chiu chow style dumpling lacked the bold and flavorful notes that I was expecting. That being said, I did appreciate the overall hygiene of the restaurant. It's always reassuring to know that the kitchen is clean and well-maintained, particularly when it comes to handling and preparing food. When considering the dim sum as a whole, I would recommend trying a variety of options to get a well-rounded experience. While the Chiu chow style dumpling may not have been my favorite, there were certainly other dishes that I enjoyed and would be happy to order again.

Can't deny this is one of the best in town. You can taste the seriousness of the dim sum makers in the kitchen. Each dim sum is filled , you won't bite into air. Love the rice roll and shrimp dumplings. Stuffed with mouth full of tasty fillings. Price is extremely budget so it is beyond good quality with this price. Environment is quite spacious in small city like Hong Kong. Will definitely come back again with different friends.
