Central District, Taichung City｜Uncle A-Dou's Frozen Taro

We’re so lucky to have came here right when the little street store opens at 2:30pm in the afternoon. Expect a long line already if you arrive at 3pm. They’re famous for their cold taro, peanut tofu pudding, white fungus and lotus seed soup and strawberry jam toasts. We saw locals ordering both dine-in and large bags for takeaway. There are around 6 small tables for dine-in but people finish up very quickly. Food wise, we loved how soft and flavorful the taro is! The tofu pudding was smooth and not too sweet, matches well with the super soft cooked peanuts. The white fungus and lotus seed soup was also refreshing.

Everyone commenting about the strawberry toast, not very extraordinary but if eaten on the spot it should be nice. Their yam is godly. MUST TRY

Don’t let the looks of these simple street snacks deceive you. They’re yummy delicious. The frozen taro is a must try. They’re so soft and tender, you can literally break them apart with the Disposable spoons. If you’re in the area, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
