I thoroughly enjoyed an absolutely delightful lunch at Run Curry Run / 嘎哩奔 today. *** In Brief: High CP Value and will thus return for sure. *** The menu possesses that rare quality of being both succinct and varied. I thought it would be like other curry restaurants that offer several variations on the same theme. Here, however, you can choose from: - A delicious Taiwanese curry with roasted chicken (oooh, loved that crispy skin followed by the juicy meat) - An aged and sophisticated Japanese beef curry and - Hamburger steak with a lovely red wine sauce (forgot to take a photo of this one) I couldn’t decide which entrée to order and fortunately my fellow two diners were more than happy to go family style. For me, each dish provided an elevated tasting experience, meaning they each tasted like refined, fine dining without coming across as fussy or too serious. The flavors were on point and the textures were most welcome. Each entree is crowned with a delectable egg. It’s challenging to say which dish was my favorite because each one really provides the diner with a distinct flavor profile. Each beef / poultry dish was tender, rich with flavor and (perhaps obviously) cooked to perfection. *** Each curry / sauce was truly different in a great way. I think this is an important distinction and the dividing line between Run Curry Run and other curry restaurants which, despite offering the ability to order different dishes…often fall flat because the curry is the same from one dish to the next and thus they end up tasting similar / almost the same. *** The side dishes held their ground as well. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and I greatly appreciate that they intentionally left some potato skin in the mash to shine as well. The drinks were all enjoyable too. While straightforward, they were each executed well. I had the milk tea which was perfect (not too sweet, not too bland). The black tea was calming. The front-of-house team was warm and attentive from start to finish. They made me feel as if we were old friends, always smiling and always there when we needed them. Lastly, the décor is inviting: Simultaneously possessing a modern-day / hip vibe while somehow retaining some of the traditional elements and charm of the Taiwanese restaurants of old. In other words, updated but familiar while always being comfortable and happy overall. I wish I had tried more of the side dishes and I think I missed one of the entrees but at the same time happy I left some options for next time.

The service was amazing, but the food was even better! We had the beef curry, chicken curry, hamburger, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. All were absolutely delicious with quality ingredients. The drinks were fantastic as well. Overall, the environment here is fun and casual. A great spot to meet up with friends for lunch or grab a quick bite on your own. We will definitely be back!

We ordered a variety of dishes for the four of us and each dish was fabulous! My favorite was the Japanese hamburger. It was juicy and tender and the sauce rich in depth and flavor. The cabbage on the side was a fantastic compliment to this decadent dish. The over easy egg on top was cooked to perfection.
