Kyoto, Japan｜Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu - Kyoto Station

Literally one of the best meals I’ve had in Kyoto! Went during dinner time since it was near our hotel and by the time our group was seated (7.50pm) there was a very long line outside. We were quite lucky and only waited for around 15min or so! The beef was very tender, and you can choose to cook it longer on the mini grill provided. We ordered the special unagi set as well but preferred the beef still. There’s a side of grated yam provided for you to mix in with the rice or eat it with the beef. Instructions in English were also provided on a leaflet the side. Would definitely be back for more Gyukatsu when I’m back in Kyoto!

We did wait for about 30 minutes to get in, but food came out quickly once we were seated. The food was definitely worth the wait as well! They offer different sauces for you to try, so you can see which one you like the most.

Long wait but worth the wagyu sirloin steak. Small place wait outside but it was fast. Cones with rice miso soup and sauces are great.
