Osaka, Japan｜Okonomiyaki Gen

I don’t know much Japanese but it was a fun and delicious time copying what other people ordered. The chef was patient and nice. He cooked a satisfying Okonomiyaki. Trying to talk to the other customers around the 6-seat bar using multiple languages and translation apps was an entertaining night. One of the customers treated the the rest of us a snack. I want to remember to pay that forward when I’m on my home turf and meet visiting travellers.

Brilliant okonomiyaki experience. Friendly and relaxed, with an English menu on ipad. Baseball on the tv, nice kirin draftu and delicious food cooked in front of you. Can't ask for much more.

Small okonomiyaki restaurant with stools at the counter, chef cooks for you on the grill in front of you. Tasty pork moyashi and egg tofu omelette and kasu buta okonomiyaki are highly recommended! It's in a nice neighborhood about 15 minutes walk from Tennoji station!
