Osaka, Japan｜Okonomiyaki Sakura

We arrived at 11am when they opened and already had to line up 40mins for a table for 3. It seems like one or two people dining is a lot faster as it is a smaller restaurant. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Okonomiyaki is a tad bit too salty for us - saw other tables order beers so it’s probably seasoned to be served with alcohol. However I would definitely go back, perhaps later in the day so I can order a beer with my meal!

Great food and nice servers. We ordered the mixed okonomiyaki and the beef tendon spring onion pancake which were both delicious. There was a bit of wait during the lunch rush hour in which we had to wait a good 40 minutes. However, the value is remarkable; we paid 2,500 JPY for two large okonomiyakis. Would recommend this!

We had two dinners here during our week-long stay in Japan. It was such delicious comfort food. And, what I liked the most, the pancakes were just loaded with ingredients and the grill on the table kept them piping hot. Osaka does it best. This eatery was at first hard to find as it’s in a labyrinth. The second time, we asked a security guard who led us straight to it. Both times, we waited in line for about 45 minutes. So worth the wait!
