Kishiwada, Osaka, Japan｜Kani Douraku Kishiwada

The overall experience with Kani Douraku begins immediately the moment you walk through their door. Leave your shoes by the foyer and step into a space that is both open and private and welcoming. We were given a spacious private room, which felt very luxurious. The staff were gracious and helpful. They answered all our questions and explained every dish that was brought out. It was a wonderful eating and learning experience. We were there for lunch and the meal sets were an excellent intro to how crab can be served. Every dish was a delicious artwork. The one change that I would recommend would a having a sherbet instead ice cream for dessert/palate cleanser. Sweet dairy after a seafood meal doesn’t quite go for me. The whole experience went up a notch after a visit to the restroom. Kani has the most beautiful, functional, clean bathroom. Definitely worth a visit just to see the decor. Kani Douraku is a chain. I didn’t have any expectations coming in, but that visit was such a great experience, I will be putting Kani on my must visit list wherever I encounter them in the future.

The crab is delicious ♥️ I went without a reservation, but it was full so I couldn't get in, but the staff was very responsive and immediately called me to let me know that a seat was available. I felt good eating it. However, although he was explaining the products, his voice was so low that I couldn't understand what he was saying. I didn't want to listen to it again, so I just ignored it.
