I. LOVED. IT. Kazu-san, the owner is so sweet and gracious. The restaurant is located down a little alley right next to our hotel. I was craving something clean tasting and non-greasy and shabu shabu seemed like an excellent choice. I've had shabu a lot and even worked at a shabu restaurant in Los Angeles. This experience made me realize that I've been eating garbage the entire time! Shabu shabu Fuji from the moment you walk in is such a well manicured restuarant. You can see the care and detail from the decor to the table set up. There's no English menu, but Kazu-san spoke enough to help us along and we had so much fun. There are 3 types of beef offered (I prefer beef to pork). The American beef of course was the cheapest option, but I'm in JAPAN! We went with the 2nd highest option and the marbling was fantastic. The beef flavor was so delicate and the fat unctuous. We ordered 1 set with 2 orders of beef and 2 bowls of rice which came out to about ¥5800 (<$27/pp!!). Totally worth it for such a great experience! I felt like it was a private dinner just for us! DEFINITELY coming back! (EDIT: I visited Osaka 1 year later AND THE SHABU SHABU IS STILL PHENOMENAL!!!) 😄👍🏼

Everything was absolutely delicious from the beef to the pork to the vegetables. My boyfriend and I both ordered the fine beef and the A4 wagyu. There is absolutely no comparison when you eat the wagyu, it’s that good. The noodles are fantastic and cooked to al dente. You can also customize your sauce however you want with garlic, onion and more. The meal sets are priced incredibly reasonably considering the grade of beef you’re receiving. The owner is very friendly and quite accommodating as well. Definitely coming back, highly recommended!
