This obviously is a hidden gem. It's a canteen for the folks working at the market but then they welcome anyone. The set menu is only 660 yen. You pick 3 small dishes and 1 main dish, which come with rice, miso soup. Don't get too quick picking all three small dishes from the chill rack...there are more cooked small dishes inside!!! You can always add small dishes Ala carte that is only a small fee. This place opens from 7am, perfect for breakfast or brunch. It could be busy during lunch hour. They also serve other typical Japanese meals like kare udon, kare rice, etc.

Very cost-effective, 660, 3 side dishes + 1 main dish + 1 miso soup, you can choose large, medium or small rice, pickles, almond tofu and coffee are free. There are also five-grain rice, but the quantity is limited and while supplies last.

``Maido Ookini Shokudo'' is located in the central market inside the city. It's hard to find the place, but Enter from the front and it's on the 2nd floor on the left side of the building. The Maido Ookini Shokudo here uses fresh fish and vegetables purchased from the market. There is a four-course set meal that changes daily. This set includes a main side dish, 3 small dishes, rice, and miso soup. When you enter the entrance, you take a tray and start by taking three small dishes. This small bowl comes with freshly baked dashi-wrapped eggs, so I highly recommend it. When it's not there, it seems like they'll bake it for you if you ask. Once you have 3 small dishes, it's time for the main dish. Here too, the fish is grilled right in front of you, so you can enjoy freshly grilled fish. Once you get your main, move on to miso soup and rice. You can choose large, medium or small rice. The price is the same even for a large serving. And do the accounting. Almond tofu and hot coffee are placed where tea and seasonings are placed. It's free and you can eat and drink as much as you want (lol) This is 660 yen. It's a great value. The salted mackerel was also delicious.
