Osaka, Japan｜Sushi Takao

A small yet cozy restaurant that sits up to 6 people. We opted for the omakase set and was entranced by how each sushi was carefully prepared. He later shared with us thst this was the seasonal menu. The soup served midway through the course was one of the sweetest seafood broth accompanied with fragrant yuzu peels. Kudos to this small space, where we saw how this one chef was the only person on the other side of the counter who did everything for his guests - served tea, prepared dishes, washing up and even engaged in small conversations using his phone aided by translation tool. We had a lovely time and was touched by his hospitality and good food in this very unassuming place!

Chef Takao is one of the friendliest and kindest people I met on my trip to Japan. He’s more then willing to use google translate to help communicate. The omakase, plus the other pieces we tried, were delicious. Paired with the Sake and Umeshu, we left the restaurant extremely satisfied. Will be dropping by for my next trip to Osaka!
