We were there few weeks ago and I have waited until now to leave my comment because this was the first place where we ever eat yakisoba or okomoniyake. The food was so delicious that we started eating too fast and we had to remind ourselves to eat slower. The 2 ladies in the restaurant were very nice to us. They made us feel welcome even if we are tourists. They talked to us, gave us suggestions how to eat (what to put on top us the yakisoba). Asked us if all is good, if we need help, etc. It made our experience even better and this is maybe my favorite Japanese food. BIG Thank you to the 2 ladies that night and I really regret I haven't ask They names!

An okonomiyaki restaurant near the Kyoto City Central Wholesale Market. On market days, this is a popular restaurant where people who work early in the morning eat lunch during their breaks or enjoy a beer after work. Great value lunch. I ordered Hoso yakisoba, which is 1.5 times the size of the yakisoba lunch noodles. It is delivered piping hot to the iron plate. This comes with rice, miso soup, and a small side dish. (Regular is 1050 yen, large is 1200 yen.) I also had the mixed okonomiyaki modern dish. At night, there is a wide selection of menus that go well with alcohol. it's recommended.
