Old style Japanese restaurant! They are open early in the morning. We arrived around 5am at Kyoto station and walked 20 mins. Restaurant is managed by old Japanese women so guaranteed authentic. Food was simple and good. Cheap for price as well. You can reheat the food you have selected as there is a microwave available in the counter. They also serve alcohol.

This is an old Japanese cafetaria or we called shokudo which selling comfort homecooked food. We can take all side dishes by our self directly after entering the place. Then ask rice and miso soup afterwards. Or we can order something from the menu that is placed on the wall. There is microwave, if we want the side dishes to be warm we need to warm it ourself. The taste is super delicious and comforting because it is freshly made. My favorite is charcoal grilled salmon.
