One of the best unagi restaurants in Kyoto and probably the best in the Arashiyama area. Having booked well in advance through our hotel, we arrived on time and were seated in a few minutes. Siting by the window, we were able to enjoy the delicious grilled unagi rice with a wonderful view of the greenery in the garden. The unagi dishes were really delicious. Grilled unagi livers were done well without any fishy taste. No need to mention that the unagi rice was cooked to its perfection with just enough charcoal flavour. Really delicious. Service was prompt and very welcoming. Some people had not booked in advance like we did but the staff still tried their best to accommodate them. Nevertheless, reservations are expected as said on the notice board in the front of the entrance.

Reservation only. Great area with a great tram line that gets to close to the store. Definitely recommend the course set to experience as much as you can. Come if you love eel or want to try it.
