Kyoto, Japan｜Gyuzen Kyoto Shijo Karasuma

We made a dinner reservation about 3 hours prior and we were seated in a nice and cozy private room. We ordered 2 of the domestic beef shabu shabu one plates from the English menu and added the spicy soup base and a non-spicy soup base that was recommended by staff. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent! The staff were so kind and helpful! Some reviewers gave poor reviews due to lack of English speaking staff but they do their best to communicate. If you’re having trouble just use Google Translate or basic Japanese phrases and the staff will meet you halfway :)

We had dinner here around 21:00, the place is not too crowded and very relaxing because they have individual area for every tables. Importantly, the staff is very friendly, the guy here speaks ok English and he is super helpful, other girl doesn’t speak me ch English but she is super nice too. The food is very good, it’s a proper shabu shabu place with a lots of vegetables and beef options. Price is very good too. Happy to find them in Kyoto, highly recommended!

Delicious Sukiyaki at a fair price. The staff was attentive and friendly and spoke English very well. If we had more time in Kyoto I'd definitely come back again!
