More Comments at Google MapI visited during lunch time, and it was busier than I expected, so there was no wait time. The people at the store were also very nice. I had the lunch menu of hamburger and fried shrimp plus crab croquette for 1,500 yen. The demi-glace sauce on the hamburger steak is sour and delicious. The fried shrimp also brings out the best in the ingredients and is really delicious. The crab croquette also has a good aroma and taste. Particularly noteworthy were the vegetables that came with the dish, which were super fresh and full of flavor. The daily potage that was ordered separately was also delicious.
One of the famous Western food restaurants in Kyoto. It's next to Shimogamo Shrine. Everything is carefully done and delicious. Fried foods in Kyoto, like tempura, are different from those in Tokyo, where they are fried with a thin batter that clings to the ingredients, which is different from Tokyo's fried foods, which emphasize crispness and make the bread crumbs stand out. Also, the additional potage was eye-opening. It was a potage of radish and clams, but instead of just adding daikon radish, grated radish was added as a secret ingredient to the potage, making it a nice accent. I was also impressed by the way the clams were cooked, unlike the ones that are simply boiled and hardened. Please note that it is crowded on Saturdays and Sundays.
The 65-year-old restaurant opened in 1958. It is worth coming to eat after visiting Shimogamo Shrine, but the restaurant has fewer seats, so you need to wait if you don’t have a reservation
