Kyoto, Japan｜Eijuan

Wanted a kyoto style dinner, couldn’t get any last min booking for kyoto kaiseki, so walked to a nearby restaurant area to check out the food, stumbled upon eijuan that sells grill sea bream and saba. Set meal is totally worth it, all the side dishes were delicious. Added salmon to bump up the protein intake

Fish was grilled perfectly and complemented with side dishes and piping hot rice of course. Lovely view from the restaurant. We went at 3pm and it was quiet which suited us. Many restaurants in Kyoto close in the afternoon (2pm-5pm) to prepare for dinner service and Eijuan was open, to our delight.
