The food was just slightly above average. But wait! Don't let that statement scare you away! Here's the thing...mix slightly above average food with AMAZING prices and you get a 5 star place. This is the kind of place you see on a show that talks about the "hidden local places that tourists don't know about". Authentic food with an easy going atmosphere. I had the shoyu ramen. The chashu in it was actually the highlight, being super flavorful. My wife had the curry udon.

Visited last night on 12 Jan 2023. Was immediately given an English menu and some hot tea. Run by a couple, the wife’s English was quite good and she was very helpful and kind. She took our orders and was the one cooking our food. Husband showed her the google review of the fried rice and asked to add more tempura. She didn’t allow it only because there wasn’t a price for adding tempura to the fried rice. She also was pleasantly surprised that there was a google review for the shop! We order: 1. Fried rice 2. Tempura udon 3. Fried vegetable - this came in a set but we ordered it as an a la carte 4. Soba soup with mushroom Don’t expect big portions but we ordered no.4 to share as we were hungry. The food was good and felt very home-cooked. Our orders came very fast and after that they took turns eating their simple dinner. So cosy and will definitely visit again!

Good food at great price. And somehow it's location to where we stayed made it more convenient than the convenience store. Nothing is in English but the owners are very accommodating and will try to get what you mean.
