Kyoto, Japan｜Sadashichi

We found this authentic little restaurant whilst walking in the local area. Delicious tempura and soba noodles. The owner is learning English and was warm and friendly.

This little gem was hiding in a quiet suburb close to our hotel. It has just a few seats and is very cosy. We had forgotten our portable WiFi at home so we had a hard time communicating and reading the menu without any translation app. The owner/host was very friendly though and with hands+feet and a few words of Japanese and English we managed to find some fried tofu soba for my vegetarian wife and some beef soba for myself. The soba was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We sadly forgot to ask the name of our host but we managed to have a nice conversation. Come visit him, say hi and enjoy the soba!

When I lived in Japan, I went here every single week! The owner is friendly and the food is great.
