Great local hole-in-the-wall and a fantastic value! Fun atmosphere. The entrance is a little hidden, but that's part of the food adventure (see pictures of the nondescript entrance).

Food was very delicious - we opted for the premium course, which was 3990 yen, which entailed a 2.5 hour tabe and nomihoudai (all you can eat and drink). Highly recommend the chicken nanban, various noodle dishes and especially the garlic bread (called the tall garlic toast). Drinks were reasonably strong, but be aware you can only order beer on the premium 2.5 hour course. There was a rather large range of alcohol, so all preferences welcome.

Fantastic Izakaya near Gion. We avoided the tourist traps, and enjoyed all you can eat and drink for £20/¥4000. I think there was a cheaper £15/¥3000 option but it didn't include the premium Sake I wanted :-) Highly recommend!
