More Comments at Google MapMy wife and I visited Kyoto for the third time and ate dinner here last night. I don’t write Google reviews but felt obligated to after having the best dinner we ever had in Japan. The menu is only in Japanese but the staff went out of their way to explain as best they could. We went with a preset course. The appetizers were incredible: octopus with cucumber and vinegar. Sashimi with a peanut dressing. Another appetizer was explained as stomach of the cow but could have heard wrong but also amazing. The main event, motsu nabe was soooooo good. We loved how you get yuzu paste and red pepper on the side. The beef dish with yuzu paste was soooo good. The ramen noodles at the end were sooo good. They gave a small dessert - also amazing. Muscat grape and homemade ice cream. Best meal we ever had in Japan. The staff were soooo nice despite us not speaking Japanese.
Absolutely fantastic Motsunabe, one of the best stews / soups I have had in my life. They cook it for 4 days!, so the richness of the flavors is fantastic. Their meet is also top tier. You should definitely give it a try I’d you are looking for something delicious to eat in Kyoto. Initially we were a little lost in translation because the menu is only in Japanese but the staff and chef are extremely friendly and kind. We had the best service in all our trip in Japan.
Very friendly and very good. The lady who welcomed us spent a lot of effort to understand what we want. She was very nice. The food was very good. The meat was delicious. It was a real pleasure to come.
