More Comments at Google MapI’ve been coming here since I was a little kid! I live in California, but whenever we come to Kyoto to visit our family, we always make sure to come to Marufuku. We love the curry udon, okonomiyaki, and tori namba soba!
I like curry udon. It's cheap, voluminous, and delicious. I'm sure it would cost more than 1,000 yen in central Kyoto, but I'm glad the owner and his wife have such pleasant customer service in the downtown area. It's always full.
The store's appearance is difficult to enter, but once you're inside, you'll want to eat there regularly. I always eat Tentoji or Kitsunetojisoba. I like the combination of the slightly sweet and not too strong soup stock, soba noodles, and eggs. Chinese noodles have thin noodles, and the soup stock is light and seasoned without being difficult. I'm always at a loss, but I think I'll go with soba. Also, the okonomiyaki that you cook yourself is delicious. Mayonnaise is an additional charge. If you order one, you'll get two mayo. The price is also reasonable. A nice shop with a friendly lady who greets you. My uncle has been feeling sick lately, and I'm secretly worried about how long he'll be able to continue making deliveries.
