Nara, Japan｜Unagiku

The staff members here are very kind and welcoming, many do speak English. We reserved our spot and time a long time before arriving in Nara because this restaurant is very booked. We also preordered from the menu options (our waitress double checked with us about it as well!) The full eel set option is a good portion for one person, the half eel set comes with more side dishes. The eels are very popular and very tender. Would also recommend trying the Nara local soda!

One of the best meals I had in Japan. Atmosphere is amazing, I came here with my wife and they gave us seats with window overlooking the Japanese vintage building. The food is fantastic, even the miso soup is tasty. My only regret was not ordering more. Simply the best unagi I've had. Don't get intimidated by the Google maps dollar sign, the half-eel (unagi-don) is only around ¥2200, quite worth it for unagi this good.

Service is really good, the staff is really nice and sweet. The wood style restaurant is also very interesting, very Japanese style which I like. Unagi are all order to cook, so it took a while, but flavor was so good!!!! Worth the wait!!!! And the Sansho powder added a lot of flavor. Very good!!!
