Katsuragi, Nara, Japan｜蕎麦屋薬庵

A soba restaurant located near Taima-dera, Katsuragi City, Nara Prefecture. Anyone who wants to eat authentic soba should definitely visit. I ordered and ate soba sashimi and inaka soba. I was so impressed by how delicious it was.

I stopped by on my way back from visiting Taima-dera Temple. I ordered Inaka Soba, and it was delicious with a good texture and a strong aroma. The owner seems to be doing everything by himself (cooking, serving, accounting), so there is a bit of a wait when customers arrive. The soba soup served at the end is melty and delicious. I haven't asked, but I think payment is only possible in cash.

Hand-made soba made with homemade flour in front of Taima-dera Temple gate. Made from domestic buckwheat flour, it is light green, thin and easy to swallow. The soup stock was strong and I had it topped with wasabi. The old house has been renovated, and the atmosphere is lovely with antique tableware and furniture.
