More Comments at Google MapLovely Café to visit especially in the winter. The hot drinks revitalized my soul while en route to the Temple. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful. They we're very proficient with English. This Café has my highest regard and recommendation.
Attracted by the atmosphere in the photo, I made a reservation and visited at 9am on a Saturday. It's in an inconspicuous location, so you wouldn't notice it was a cafe from the outside, but I thought that might be a good thing. There were no other customers, so I was alone in the tatami room, with the same atmosphere as the original factory furniture, and it was a quiet and elegant time that made me feel like I had gained something. The breakfast set was also delicious. thank you very much.
About 100 years ago, this place was the home and factory of Yoshijiro Kita, who manufactured and sold health foods using fungi, such as yogurt. It was an abandoned building for about 30 years after the factory closed, but it was renovated and revived as a cafe. There's a sign at the entrance to the site indicating that this is a cafe, but it's very subtle. The building seems to be very valuable, and is a registered tangible cultural property, and is also featured on the Nara City website. The cafe space looks like a former factory office, and is an irresistible place for retro lovers, with wooden doors, wooden tables, chairs, and glass windows reminiscent of those days. Pictures and ornaments were discreetly placed on wooden shelves that had been around since then, and the lights hanging from above were reminiscent of the old National electric lights. We stopped by for lunch just before entering the paid area of Todaiji Temple. From the menu, I ordered ``Original Blend Coffee'' ice cream and ``Dessert Enjoyment Plate'' for two. I really enjoyed enjoying the atmosphere of this place along with the food. Upload photos of your food. (Visit: 2023-10-09)
