Nara, Japan｜Hoshino Coffee

A really nice restaurant for coffee, fluffy pancakes and more. First time here and I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. The restaurant was very clean and had hand sanitizers readily available. The booths were comfortable and spacious enough. The service was really good - the servers were friendly and very accommodating. The food was delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and flavourful. Served with syrup and whipped cream. The cheesecake was the surprise hit - a great blend of sweet and savoury. The holiday morning set was great - it had a a little bit of everything (available till 11am). Selected coffees are half price with second cup ordered. There is ample parking available. There was no English menu, but it’s very easy to order from the menu using the photos. Hikoboshi blend coffee is really rich and unique. Much better quality than other coffee shops. Also, they have the best french toast.

I went on a weekday for lunch. It was empty, so I was shown to my seat right away. The interior was calm and the lighting was not too bright, creating a nice atmosphere. We had the lunch menu and sweets. They also asked me when to bring drinks and food. After the meal, I ordered an additional kettle-baked soufflé, which I was looking forward to, but it would take about 20 minutes to cook, so I had to wait a bit. I thought it would be nice if it was written on the menu. The paper towels were nice and thick, but when I wanted to wipe my hands and mouth after eating, there were no paper napkins. Payment was by cash, credit card, Rakuten Edy, or ID. PayPay and transportation IC cards cannot be used. Coffee beans were sold at the entrance of the store. The food and sweets were delicious, so I would like to use it again for breakfast next time.
