Nara, Japan｜Kotonoma Akari

Quite possibly the most delicious kakkigori (shaved ice) I've ever had in my life. The ice was incredibly soft and fluffy like the movies, and tasted perfectly sweet- not too sweet either. Incredibly kind and nice owners. I had the Ooshiama 「大海人・おおしあま」and it was truly a wonder to experience. Thank you so much.

Best damn shaved ice on the planet! Hands down. Fluffy snow like ice that I could eat plain straight out of the bowl and still be content. I had 3 in one sitting they were that good! The strawberry knocked my socks off, the honey and condensed milk slapped, and the brown sugar struck a nostalgic chord from my childhood that left me shook. MUST VISIT if anywhere near Nara.

Super cute and yummy. The shaved ice is great, with a few different flavors. The prices range from 700 to 900 yen, which is normal for shaved ice in Nara. Only a little English on the menus, but pictures!
